Default RS Turbo motors are ......

Rs Turbo motors are SHITE !

im having so many problems with mines its so wrong ! im on my 3rd turbo in less than a year and probs less than 5month on the road! 3 sump gaskets, set of lifters, startamotor, plus alot more ! and know got new turbo on took it out for 30mins tonite, oil pissing out from somewhre, + a knocking from (what seems to sound like) the top end but been told bottem end bearings or shells could be knackered! so that means at least another 200quid im sick to death more hasstle than enuff !!! lol

can you tell im pissed off? lol
i pay 118quid a month insurance for it to be sat on the drive ! lol

goin through 3 turbos in a year!

you priming them after fitting?! cus doesnt sound like it!

I would suggest dumping ya engine and starting fresh with another one! theres loads goin about! or bite the bullet and go for a full rebuild!

mines over 200bhp and i cane mine everywhere! and dont seem to have to many problems (touches a large lump of wood ) tho gotta say when i 1st brought the car all i got was problems!

best to rebuild your bottom end first, i had a similer problem with a car before. it had a reciept for a rebuild & had only been run in but started to smoke, new turbo, fine for 6 months then smoking again, another (new)
turbo, 3 months, smoking again, another turbo,,,,,,,
2 months, smoking again........................

in the end i was ready to burn the car, so i left it up the drive for a while
& when in a better frame of mind i stripped the engine, the reciept was
for a complete rebuild, low comp pistons, shells, rings etc.....
(the work was done by Turbo Power Services in Leicster)
when i got it all apart, the pistons were standard with about 2mm skimmed
off the top, all the shells were odd (ie; genuine shell in rod, pattern shell in cap) standard size & had the bronze effect were they had done over 100k.
done over or what
Trading standards said we had a bombproof case, but Turbo Power Services had ceased trading

i think it must have had so much crank pressure & lack of oil pressure
that's what was causing the turbo's to blow.

anyway in the end i got a low miles engine (under 50k) and for peace of mind rebuilt it myself, never had a turbo problem with it since.

I've had loads of problems with mine as well, but once you have fixed it and take it out for a drive it always puts a smile on my face I WILL make it reliable at some stage
