At work this morning, had my transport manager come in to tell us that when all drivers check their vehicles to make sure that all wheel nuts are there and tight....some stupid idiot(s) have gone round our vehicles over night stealing all the wheel nuts they can get off!

He told me to go out to the workshop n have a look, and one of our long wheel base transit minibus's which carry's up to 3 wheelchair passengers was on the ramp, with 4 of the 5 wheelnuts missing...and only the locking wheel nuts left intact!! just thank god that it was noticed!!! how disgusting is that!!

exactly chip, all our minibuses take wheelchairs, and well its all the transit ones they have nicked! apparently they are like Ł3.50ish each! just shows how little people think before they do things cos they are putting so many peoples lives at risk over Ł3.50 wheelnuts

could you guys fit torque indicators to the wheel nuts at all then with a quick glance you can see if the nuts have been loosened of at all.
used to be a pre use vehicle check for me when I drove 7.5t motors.

 

I dont know what they are planning on doing but that would be a mission with over 100 vehicles on the fleet lol
