I've got a mk6 escort who's alarm activates when you open the passenger door. I can't get the alarm to stop sounding and have tried the suggestions in the alarm manual of turning the key in the lock and holding it to deactivate the alarm.

Can anyone tell me where the alarm unit is and if there is an easy way of bypassing it or disabling it??

For now i've removed fuse 28 which has stopped the flashers and disconnected the horn to stop the noise.

the micro switch on the drivers door lock has probably come off so when you use the key its not turning the alarm off, i had this happen on mine take the door panel off and you may see the micro switch hanging down or disloged from the lock
