2.0 TDCI Bad mpg?

Hi all, hope you all had a good xmas?
I have recently bought a focus TDCI and under normal driving im only getting 40mpg and approx 42 motorway! is this what everyone else gets?

we have them for fleet cars all 130bhp tdci mondi' and they are doing 55+ on the motorway at 70 mph

would want mine looking at if its only doind 42 did you reset the trip before you set off

Yeah, i reset it and was not driving hard! 6 th gear at about 80! seems to run nice! someone said the EGR valve needs cleaning???
