Default alloy wheels 18ich

was thinking of buying set of these alloys for my escort cosworth 18inch
from wheel base manchester he said would do me a set and 4 tyres for £1,000 is this a good price?
anyone else got a set on there car, also what would i expect for my old wheels if i put them on ebay 4 nearly new tyres fitted to them.

they are one of the most common, yet most suited wheels to go onto an escort cosworth.

the price you have been quoted sounds very fair, but at that price (and being brand new) id expect the tyres to be a budget option.

the wheels you show are Engels, which are infact a copy of the origonal called Rondell, both are very good but many preffer the origonals.
if you wanted some origonals, then Dave Moss has a very good set for sale with very good tyres for £900.

I've got a set of those & they are spot on. When I spoke to them they came with Toyo's, so not a bad tyre at all.

You may have issues if you've got Koni's as they rub the front strut.

You have to be joking Only messing the choice is yours, this is mine with those wheels & a set of Koni's with Ahmed lowering springs.

I think its only 10 or 15mm max, mine still has the lower splitter & I have no issues with speed bumps etc. You do have to take it easy going over them but its a great setup & well worth the money.

The only thing you have to do is adjust the front struts to stop the tyre fouling the spring cup. A large hammer does the job.

lowering or no lowering, the shock base/spring cup will still sit in the same place and be very close to the tyre, if not making actual contact

Koni's and Ahmed springs are an awesome compliment to an Escort, just taking up the gaps in the arches after fitting the 18" wheels, plus giving a superb feel and handling without costing a fortune.

Hi Kelv,

Its close but they will fit with the original shocks as I was running them on mine before I got the Koni's from Mike R, the original cups aren't as wide as the Koni ones.
