Default My Ford Sierra 2,9 24v Estate

Hello folx. Im new her. And i'm a boy from norway, age 25 at the time
My english is not perfect but i hope you understand me.

I started up with a 1990 Ford Sierra 2,9i GL 12v
Some pictures of it right after i bought it:

My girlfriend in the back, ready to help me tint the windows.

Changing the rear axel to Cosworth 2wd.

And it worked excellent!

Whopsy
Hope you can forgive my crappy English

Did a complete make-up on the body also. since i work with it.
So a couple off "before pictures" then the "after pictures"

And as the Ford commercial say: Feel The Difference!

peanut_coz: nice arse out action there. you got any more plans for the car?
-The plans are simple. Take out the stock 2.9 liter 12v engine and replace it with a 2.9L 24v from scorpio cosworth.
And som styling

cossiejsy: Good pictures and plenty of sideways nice
-This car is built to go sideways

xHayleyx: woop! woop!
-yeah, thats the sound of a v6 with replacement filter and new exhaust

Glenny Boy: Looks like a little sleeper.Whats wrong with turbos?
-The original plans was sleeper, with 1,6 badges on the back, but
those plans were buried quickly when i bought the cosworth bumper
and the combat sideskirt. Pictures will come.
And don't get me the wrong way her. I love Sierra Cosworth with turbo.
The "No fuckin turbo shit, just real power" is just a subtitle for this project car.

I'd got a hold of a sett of escort cossie wheels

polishing them at work
New and smoked siderepeaters:

New parts

And here we are, buring rubber in sweeden Nice!

lowering the car, here is a good friend of mine working
And here you can see i,ve fitted the cosworth bumber,

Much better Yes

The old engine on its way out.

and here we are, dirty and empty..

The new engine

New gaskets i,ve had to buy from england.

Fuckin nasty and dirty, i hate to work in those conditions.

But after a couple of hours at work with various types of soaps and acids.
Pluss polishing and adding hardwax. Its smooth

And some new parts. To help the estate to breathe, and move less on the road
Cheers!

I hope you mates are okay with me not explaining everyting or almost nothing. Its 2 reasons for that, im not very good in english, and i wise man once told me that 1 picture can say more than 1000 words

Im working on an other car as well, my family racer also known as a Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 Estate. (Yes i love estates hehe)

here is some pictures of it.

The engine:

Alot better than a Scorpio 2.0 Dohc
I,ve tinted the taillights

And i,ve tinted the front and side indicators.
Going from this:

To this:

And you can se the turing signal

And when it comes to the sierra, i have done something.
I have attached the air filter

Looking good right

So next is to make some kind of wall to box in the filter so it dont sucks hot air from the engine. And make a tube go down to the left air intake of the cosworth bumper

So, thats it for today folks

I hade some spare time so i did this with the hood

A nice littel touch i think

And i've trade to me some rims.

Im gonna fix them up. They are not quite in balanse so they need some love Then i'm sending them away to sanding and then power cote them black. With red line on the front. - I think

Here they are on the Mondeo

I went shopping the other day

Water temp, smoked, half prize. Awsome!
So, now i just need oil temp and pressure, smoked. Then i have 4 black gauges

Then

After some food. I went to work
To day i'll start with a old hood.

Measure it and start cuting

Make some holes.

Grind it down

And then

Start painting it

And mounted

And the fuck ut of the day, i managed to break this

So, i have to buy a new one. And i dont know hos to get it out. I've taken out the underside of the dash

I tried to look around it, and it will not move. I've loosen 2x 13mm bolts, but still nothing.

Well, to hell with it and moving on to someting much more fun. The wiring

Trying to get this out to the enginebay

That was some of it

Still some to go

Starting to be a quit mes here

I've got the wires around the engine and connected them to wherever they belong

And started to tape it together

Cheers!

Yes, its a 24 valve engine now. But its not much heavier than the 12 valve engine.
Anyway, i have a friend who has done the same, and no weight problem at all

im sure if you get the suspention set up by a pro it will handel fine in the corners

its running og Bilstein suspension parts, and a lot of new parts in the undercarriage.
Anyway, this car will be used for having fun, that means taking it out wide in the corners and so on.

Good luck with your convertion, the 2.3 dohc is a nice machine.

the 24v is the same block as the 12v only with alloy twin cam heads, so weighs almost the same.
with the correctly setup and corner weighted coilovers they handle fine.
not that much heavier than a YB with all its intercooler and turbo rig on

that is correct m4tt274

I've done some more on my beloved estate.
The airfilter mounted:

And the rear anti rollbar (is this the correct name for this??)

This thing is going out. dead weight.

And now im switching workshop.
So im mounting the car back together.

And when i first started i finished mounting the rest.

And for the first time in 2 years it looked like a car again.

Looks nice with the laguna lip

changing the heater matrix is very easy with the bottom of the dash out

there are 2 13mm nuts that hold the whole box in place and other than the 2 phillips screws that hold the cover in place in the engine bay, everything else just slides out of the way

very very easy swap, just undo the 2 screws that hold the adjuster rods in place, the 2 screws that hold the matrix in place and, with some luck, you can do the job in perhaps an hour
