Default Should I sandblast

Well,

Just got the rocker cover from the cvh and she is fairly rusted. I layered it in WD 40 to get the rust off and i got a good lot off. Then i discovered that the rust went deeper than i taught and it is pitted from the rust.

Is there a need to sand blast or how could i go about removing the pitted marks.

Thanks.
Kieran

sandblasting wont remove the pitting, it will get rid of all the rust though. only way i know of would be to filler primer it then gently rub it down with some 800grit wet an dry.

CVH has a welded tray like section underneath... ( forgive the lack of tech name)

However i would not get sandblasted for this very reason -The sandblast will get into these areas and lay dormant until one day it will decide to go for a trip round the engine and destroys your bearings.. Either blast this yourself if you can so as to make sure all areas are sealed and free from shot/dust.

OR

Just sand this by hand, if its heavily pitted though you might aswell save the hassle and pick one up from ebay/sale rooms for Ł15-Ł20.
Failing that then its time for the filler then a good paint!..

Ford Stratos silver is a good match for them
