Well put the fiesta Turbo in the unit and started to strip it down as im gonna do all the bodywork over winter, not looking good so far

needs new quarter
inner quarter thingy
and rear panel

and thats only after i took the wheel arch and bumper off
shall i keep faith? gets hard to some times.......





Well bit the bullet today and decided to go for it
had an hour spare at work so i started on the wing and its 99% off just got about ten minutes worth to do tomorrow, been to longaday

 

someone pity me....

 

How bads the rest of it.

 

other wing needs a little bit off work both doors need a lick of paint.....not sure weather to go for the lot or not, under side/ sills etc are ok

 

Good old body kit hiding the rust, good luck with the restoration.

I wont lie,it's a lot of work....if you REALLY REALLY want to fix the car and have the cash and the ability to step back when you get pissed off go ahead, otherwise quit now before you spend money on something you'll get fucked off with and sell for buttons

Thats why i have bought a little 1.0 litre punto, to potter round in, and the car is in the corner of my unit so if and when i run out of money/patience i can walk away for a week!, i have always wanted a fez turbo and love the car so dont really want to jump ship

 

maybe buy a better shell? does it matter if its logged as an RS to you? plenty of 1.1 shells that are a lot cleaner i'd of thought and cheap?

I'd deffo look into a newer shell, if you can find an 'N' reg shell it's going to be what 5 years newer for a start? If the log book doesnt matter to you then i'd get hunting for a nice one old lady owner 300 quid car !

I wouldnt, unless i'm mistaken it would be a mk3.5 with the gay petrol flap. Mate i'm doing ours, at the min its on hold its fucked but i'd rather spend 1k on getting it solid then however much the painting would be to keep it on the road and our lass happy shonky pieces of shit are the frst

You wanna see how ours was my welder mate turned up shit himself tuted a lot and he's still not happy about lol but he's doing it all thats needed and charging me 130 pounds for the lot, gotta love mates, thats 2 x rear quaters inner and outer and front wings and a few other bits that he's made for it

 

i would like to crack on with it removing panels is ok for me but i havent welded before and have no mates who are welders gonna have a look at it today and see if i can make a rash decision on where to start

Its not hard to do mate, the panel's anyone can remove and replace, i was gonna have a go but my mate's a welder thats all he's ever done so its cock on and he does stainless and alu so comes in very handy

 

Going to replace the otherside aswell, as it looks a bit crusty too!

buy another 1.1 fiesta stick that rst engine in it job done
