Yep I was into the old catapults as a kid, black widow they were called iirc, had a wrist support and were pretty powerful, would take out squirrels and birds with ease

still have mine not used for ages tho...i was scarily good with it, i remember shooting a crow out of the sky while it was in flight at least 100meters away and i could always hit telagraph poles and bins from 100's of yards. used to have great fun

Yeah Black Widows were awesome, there was another one with similar name too??

I remember checking out the more serious ones that had weights on them for balance. Awesome toys but "you'll have someones eye out"
