Yes. Had that with my Maserati wich was one of only 136 built. Never drove it because it was just too clean...ended up selling it and regretting it!!!

Your Uno looks amazing btw. I can really appreciate the effort that must have gone into it!

that looks spotless i had mine done and what a mistake same as you painted white and looked not as clean as yours but not too far away and after some road abuse with a mixture of great british weather and the fact i couldnt be arsed to keep it clean underneath it now 1 year on looks like this lol so it does pay not to use it

the thing about an underside resto is not so much that it looks good.
you know 100% that you have a mint clean car, very easy to work on cos nothing is sized or rusted and to fair even when its dirty a quick steam clean would bring it back perfexct again and make the car worth a lot more when selling it

cheers for all the comments!

as i said in my first post, its all your resto threads here on PF that got me iching to do the underside! and what a bastard it was!

theres the car! It was my run about while i built up my track day uno turbo, and therefore its only a 1.0, but its up to full turbo spec brake wise (in fact it has brembo 4 pots on the front as found on the fiat coupe/focus rs etc), interior wise its full uno turbo and looks wise too! I also have a Fiat/Lancia 2.0 twincam turbo lump ready to rebuild and drop in

and to be honest, ive now broke my green uno turbo track car as ive fell in love with this! now ive made it mint!

Agree i do like a clean car to drive around in... But if it's gone that far what's the point??? You might as well rip your patio doors out and sit in the bloody front room with it....

I cleaned mine this morning (cold hands now) but i've never choose not to drive the cossie because of the weather conditions... I enjoy driving it as it's a frill... As it's my second car i just sometimes like to chuck a tenner in and just go for a random drive... Just because i can and want to...

It's about having fun in the car you own, if your more worried about getting it dirty and having to clean it again then you've got a problem.

lol, exactly! i feel i need to just get in it and drive!

the main reason to do it was deep down knowing its not a rusty bag and that throwing money at it is fine as its not gonna just fall to bits (like most unos!!!)

cheers for all your comments, im sure its just like having new trainers! once u've got a bit of dirt on em u dont give a monkeys anymore! but untill that day, u only wear them on dry days lol

That's precisely why i painted my saph with black underseal, arsed cleaning it after it's resto'd, just enjoy it and give the body a polish, that's what it's meat for.

i done my rs turbo cabby, i still used it in all weathers, the reason i done it was as someone mentioned is that you know you have a clean car to work on and everything has been replaced or renwed

alls i did was jack it up wheels off bucket and sponge and rinsed it off, came up like new again

heres some pics

this is how it was when i got it

and finished, wish i never sold it, was one of the best cars ive owned

my escort cossie is getting the same treatment but more, but it will still get used and abused as it should
