Default best way to clean engine bay

right i just bout a 72k mile focus thats never been clean in this area

should i just start with soapy water and sponge and then sillocone based cleaner???

I believe the best way to do an engine bay is to cover up your electrics, mainly the exposed ones. Soak everything in some decent degreaser. Let it sit for 5 and then power wash it off.
