Brief overview of a standard nova for you:

They come from the factory as slow and not handling
They rust like hell especially round the rear arches
They are poorly made and the dash etc rattles and shakes

Well at least its one more of the hateful things off the road , a standard nova is a really nasty car by anyone's standards

But, I have to admit, my first car was a 1.2 Antibes (limited edition SR look alike) and i loved it at the time! (1988)

I passed my test in a 1.2 Merit

And vowed never to drive another one. I lasted about 10 years - but was desperate to borrow a car with a towbar to shift a trailer full of soil.
My mate came up trumps with a written off and "repaired" (kicked straight) 1.0 nova hatch in turquoise!!
No shit. - a 1.0 nova pulling half a ton of earth. That was an interesting experience!
It got moving suprisingly well... but stopping

 

I was in my late twenties when i first drove a nova IIRC, must be one of a minority there i guess.

 

i drove a nova once.

the windscreen wipers packed up 2minutes into the journey in heavy rain, then it broke down and never re-started

never again

 

Ive got a nova

its got the worst squeeking noise in it ever sounds like a chip monks hidden in the dash

 

We can start the "noisey nova and stage 3 3 door" club and live happily ever after

it was a K reg GSI just had a k&n filter on and a mongoose exhaust, the speedline wheels I took off my astra GTE never had it rollered.

 

Fair enogh, good honest little car, cant beat subtle mods like a slight lowering and a nice set of wheels, on any car.

 

yeah i got bored and bought myself a frst, had her 5 years now, i just sold my 4x4 sapp cossie last week, and on the look out for a 3dr

Used to belong to a guy in coventry, and then he sold it and it ended up in swindon, he blew the engine up recently, and its off the road still i think.

no mate i didnt, id got bored of throttle bodies and moved onto turbo and nitrous by the time i first met your borther TBH.
