Right I know how to copy tracks from a CD to my HDD using Win Media Player (9) but it saves them as wma files....

Now the new PC we got downstairs when I first went to copy some tracks on there it asked me what format I wanted to save as, so I selected MP3

How do I change the saved filetype on this machine so it saves as MP3? Cos at the mo I have to copy and save as wma, then convert it all to MP3....

 

Windows Media Player 10 will do it automatically, download and install it

 

Actually just founda file converter to convert to MP3 but might try doing that download like you said Cheers pal

 

or use nero.

Ryan, I tried many times to work out how to use Nero to burn from CD to hard drive, but all it wanted to let me do was burn from one CD drive to the other, and not to HDD, hence why I use WMP....

Will try this WMP10 at smoe point, tho this file converter I just downloaed seems really good And it's free from Download.com

 

did you use the new nero 6.6 with smartstart?
