Default roll cage pics, gussets?

i wana fit my cage to my escort, its a safety devices but needs gussets fitting, can these be bought and trimmed to suit? or do i have to make them? anyone got any pics of fitting them? how thick they need to be etc? cheers

they are the ones i was on about , you need the platforms that the cage sits on ?? i would just make them or ring safety devices as they will be car specific

i had to make my back foot plates as the rear was secondhand,but when i got the front section brand new from chris birkbeck rally,the front foot plates came with the cage, if i were you id make them up and save your self a few quid, not to mention time waiting

what thickness steel are they made from? any pics (dont mean to sound dumb as i reckon i know exactly what is required, but dont want a cage not fitted properly) cheers mate

Made mine from 2.5mm plate iirc


Spot welded nuts on as well to make it easier to fit

I will get some pics tommorrow collecting a cage off a mate and he has these in his car so i need to do the same as you mate

the msa blue book states that rollcage footplates must be a minimum of 3mm and at least as thick as the plates themselves, they must also have a surface area of 120 square cm
I know as I am in the process of modding mine to msa standard

hope you don't want to go racing richie lol

so all im after on the rear of the cage where it meets the floor is 120mm boxed plate to the bottom of the cage? any requirements at front section or where it meets the arches? cheers
