picked up this 88 spec shell yesterday from andy (AJC) as he's now stripped all the bits off it, i'v always fancied a red s2, have done a rep of 1 before but its never quite the same, was planning to re-shell my turbo'd cab into a decent rst shell sometime next year but then this shell came up for sale cheap so i'v had it.

a lot of you will probably remember the car from its former state when Ian Billings and RobL owned it and it used to look like this....





the shell itself isnt in too bad nick, there are a couple of area's behind the rear bumper which need attention, a bit on the scuttle panel where the windscreen sits, and the drivers side rear arch, battery tray has been done at some point.

this wont be a quick build as i'v also got 2 turbo'd ka's and a turbo'd cab to play with as well, but i'll try to update this as and when i can. the engine and managment from the cab will eventually be going in it when im happy that everything else on it is done but that wont be for a while yet, i'v just started tidying the engine bay up a bit for now so i can get it painted. here are a few pics i'v taken of it now its in the garage.

cant beat a few projects, when you get pissed off with 1 move onto the next, and so on and so forth, they all get done eventually lol.

seemed a shame to waste the shell, its not concours worthy and i never intend to use it for that, but there are far worse shell's out there. didnt plan on buying an s2 shell just yet but this came up so why not.

and this is the engine out my cab which will eventually be going in it along with the header tank, hoses, fuel lines etc etc, its a 1900 tall block cvh with the usual bits, felpro headgasket, big valve head, stainless valves, anti pump lifters, double valve springs, 3 angle seats, cvh34 cam and vernier, stage 3 t3, front mounted cooler, port matched 16i inlet, cossie 803's, gotech mini x

 

good stuff mate,i saw it for sale but had nowhere to put it,as i already have a few of my own lol,will be looking for another one next year maybe,when i finish the s2 track car
will be good to see the updates as it looks to be a nice spec you will put in it

 

did you fit the gotech your self, i see you still running a dizzy can it run coil pack,also did you map it

 

it hasnt been mapped yet, its booked into jamsport on the 10th of december to be mapped. I put all the gotech on it myself, bought it as a complete conversion but wasnt happy with some of it so did some of the wiring again from scratch and had to modify the inlet again due to various problems with it. im not sure if gotech mini x can run a coilpack, my zvh ka is on gotech mfi v5 pro and thats setup to run a coilpack , so it possible with that ecu but not sure if all of them are able to run a coilpack or not.

 

i think its the mfi std,that can only run a dizzy altho i maybe wrong
