wanted to know if xenon / hid headlights like these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-FOCUS-ST-...item3ca740bbd6 use the same connector from the wiring of the the standard headlights ie: if its a jus plug and play thing

No the plugs are different, but if you can get hold of some of the wiring loom with the plugs on the end then you can cut your original plugs off and solder the new ones on.

i see well would you suggest this? or am i better buying an HID kit and fitting it into the standard headlight? would the standard reflector etc resist the heat of the HID bulbs?

I had an aftermarket hid kit on an old focus, it was crap, had no beam pattern and failed the MOT. The standard xenons on my old st170 and on my new ST are excellent, i would definately try and fit a set of standard units!
