check that the amal valve is ok (clicking when the ignition is switched on)
check the actuator (maybe swap with a mate??)
check the wastegate (mine was fucked, sounded like there was a 2p rattling about inside the turbo)

check the wastegate isnt sticking, actuator moves freely (will be hard to move, or should be if actuator isnt fubar) check boost hoses on properly, no leaks (but it prob wont run right if their were a leak) is the turbo/actuator/amal valve piped up correctly? turbo shaft spin freely by hand, no exhaust manifold leaks? boost hose colapsing under load possibly? check hose from metering unit - turbo. what u jus done to the car to get it up and running? (also assuming its an RS turbo) if its a cossie it will run with a boost leak, and check the hose from air box - turbo inlet.

As essexrsturbo said mate

The actuator has fallen off the wastegate pivot arm which means all the exhaust gasses used to spin the turbo is going down the exhaust.

my understanding of up and runing sounds like youve just reasembled it etc

hence my saying the possibility of timing

or has it just stopped working?
