do i need to get my car setup if i have changed my head gasket or is it all ok as it seams to smoke and use so much fuel no its unreal it does 30 miles to a £10
Are you sure the cam AND ignition timing is correct ?
It is all TOO easy to refit the cam belt and get it wrong even when the engine still runs.
Check by winding the engine fowards using a socket on the crank pulley
out of gear (do not go backwards) and line up the ignition crank lug on the
mark and see how far the cam pointers are out.

head was no skimmed as it was not blown but i did have it cheacked. it smokes now a light gray and if i bring the boost in it will over the road behind me but i idels perfect
Anything that can affect airflow WILL affect fuelling and running quality.
If the air flow changes (excluding boost pressure changes) the YB ECU
cannot adjust the fuelling to match.
Wrong cam timing can upset the normal airflow through the engine and make
the fuel map wrong.
When you say the timing is spot on, have you actually tested it in the way I have
said above as this is the ONLY way of verifying properly.

i had the same problem when i did mine .when undoing the multi plugs on the inner wing i disturbed one of the pins and also found rust on other pins so snipped them off .problem solved.

right if you rev a cossy to about 6000 rpm and come off on the spot should i get a blue followed by black then white smoke its a stage 3 cossy greens and so on
did you do the work yourself mate,if so i think maybe
a trip to a tunner near you
may be better than reving your car to 6k and watching smoke ,sounds a bit neanderthall(spl)
could be costly

take it 2 a specialist a get it sorted
. oh f**k it what an i sayin just stop lookin in the rear view mirror thats what id do
Don't rev it up for goodness sake, that's the worst possible thing you could do!!! Smoke will be there because it's over fuelling and the fuel is unspent. I assume it's running on all four and isn't lumpy??? Sounds daft but you may have a lead out, or you could have a plug breaking down. Just a suggestion, but it may be something as simple as that or it could be ECU/sensor related which is throwing the map out as said before and the car can't compensate. Try the simple things first as they are often the cause and less costly than throwing it into a garage straight away.
