Default Ford KA speaker upgrade

Hi There,

I'm new to the forum so ello ) I wondered if anyone had any experience of upgrading the front speakers in a Ford KA and whats the easiest way to do it.

Also, can anyone recommend good speakers to replace my existing 5x7's. I'm thinking of getting 5inch components or just 5inch speakers. Whats the best make of speakers, are infinity any good???

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I've just installed a new head unit and upgarding my speakers is the next stage in my install.

Thanks
Stevo

you do on some other models

Welcome to the Board mate.

You can get the custom speaker upgrades that use the excistitng mounts and most good makes do them

Infinity are good, as are Pioneer, sony etc etc

You get what you pay for at the end of the day

13 cm is the best option.
Components are better but you'll probably need to mount the tweeters higher up like the plastic bit with the mirror adjuster.
6x9's can fit but many foul the window mechanism and once you've spaced them out enough to clear the window you have to remove the speaker grille from the door card.
Just fitted a headunit in the daughters Ka and now need to do the speakers as the Ford stuff isn't up to it!
I'm just going to get a set of 13cm co-axials and make my own MDF mounting ring.

You'll find a massive difference if you stick a bit of sound deadening on the panel behind the speaker pod when you upgrade mate

welcoem to the site mate.

What i normally do is get teh adaptor plate and drop a 13cm componant set in there.

I have used mdf (homemade) spacer ring before to slightly trimmed the opening and fitted a set of 17cm in.
