Can and crank position sensing set up.....
Who and what do people use when converting to something a little more up to date than KE-Shitronic.
Any pictures? Who and where can I buy stuff like this from?
P.S. The gear box is not coming out so preferably not fly wheel set ups..
Not sure what my ECU needs to see from the cam but crank is almost optional.

Daz I got something for sale that would be perfect for you

This goes in place of your original bottom pulley

and this bolts on to the block above it, then the sensor picks up the 32-1 teeth
You would need to get a Sierra 1.8 alternator bracket and get it machined so the alternator belt mates up with it, I have got a 100 mile old alternator thats been modded with washers and a bit shaved off the bits that bolt to the bracket so it will fit in line with the pulley, only thing that lets it down slightly is the look of it.
PM me if ya want a price bud, with or without the alternator

I just got the mail Tony!
Look good!!
I can get almost anything made regards the crank position, I just want to know what my options are before I get something made.....

Why not use the Sierra stuff mate?
Only disadvantage I can see if the crank damper is huge.....and you have to mess about with the alternator too. Id just make a flat 36-1 plate, i expect a few places sell them already!
Just mount the VR sensor then.

I have already drawn out 18-1 and 36-1 wheels ready to be made....
Yep...very true mate....no room at al its a bit of a nightmare really! Its so tight to the inner wing you have to drop the engien and box about 6inches so you can get the pulley on the crank....as it wont slide up inside the wing and then onto the crank!.
If i was to do it again (on a cvh), id use a CVH alt pulley with a 1-1.5mm thick 36-1 pulley.
Pectel Daz?

Yeah, don't really fancy messing around with the 1.8 stuff. Seems like as much messing around as if I started from scratch. Just wanted to know what options I have before actually making something.....
daz i got jano to machine me a bottom pully, he charged me a very very small drink for it too
but its a fooking tight squeeze, ya have to drobe the engine a bit to fit the alt belt

i thought that but ya know how tight i am
i would remove the engine to change the oil if there was a cheeper way
tony ( nutsrus) made one for his, hes a but of a perfectionist though ( your just as bad
)
also thing christian and beccy made a plate at one point too

36-1 is easy to do as there just happens to be 360 degrees in a circle so a mark every 10 degrees is not too much to draw up
Mounted behind the pully it saved all the messing about

And the room we had to work with

And after trying several different sensors ended up back at a Zetec one as it caused less spikes being sent to the ECU

A certain company makes their looms using twisted pairs and not sheilded cable for the crank and cam angle sensors...
Looks good Tony. I have a 36-1 (5 degree gaps with 5 degree teeth) and 18-1 (10 degree gaps and 10 degree teeth) drawn up. I was going to get them made up from 3mm stainless or ally and graft one onto the crank pulley.
Cam set up I am still not sure about yet.

I was thinking about the CPS sensor bracket when I typed stainless/ally so ignore that bit.
What about the cam sensor set up? Anybody had something made or know where I can get something to do this?
Again I can have something made up if I need to but if I can avoid reinventing the wheel......

I did think about Gadget actually....
I do still want to run the standard timing belt cover though so not sure how to over come that one....
Do you still use the origional phase sensor on your car Gareth?

SECS S8 ECU will run using standard RST dizzi.
(Or any of the other suggested trigger combinations)
This will still provide accurate timing info for the ecu to use.
All that is required is an extra "reference" slot cut in the existing trigger vane.
(Does NOT need to be an accurate slot)
This will run FULLY sequential injection and can use any mix of cossie and/or
EEC4 sensors/injectors/valves within MINIMAL setup.
Use a cossie loom (or make a new one)
Also, You could run coil pack but this would look silly if retaining the dizzi !!!
