Is it me or has anyone else had much problems wid their fuel pump relays on thier s2's????????

 

They can be a common thing to go, but shldnt happen allot, prob not more than once when u own the car? £18ish from ford.

 

I can repair some relays....unless they have completely blown to bits of course...

 

check the connections to the pump as a loose connection some where down the line will cause the relay to go.
does the car stop or cut out or even splutter as it drives

na i ve had it sat on me drive and in the garage for nearly a year now! and one day it started then died then wouldn't start again wid no pump givin its two second burst on initial turn of the key!
i plugged the head lamp relay in this got the pump runnin continuously wid the ignition on! due to only bein an on, off relay and not a timed one! byt its chewed two pump relays now and it aint bein used on the road! its been off the road soakin all me money gettin it ready for summer 2005 if the summer ever gets here!!!!!!!!!

 

if you keep having the same trouble why dont you just wire in another relay from the ignition so you know that there will no be a problem when it goes back on the road
