Default escort cosworth???

Hi all just want some advise, been looking at esc cos as i want to buy one, not fussed about having 400+bhp or the best speced car looking to spend around 15k just wondered what everyone thinks is best big turbo or smaller turbo models and whats the advantages and disadvantages? im not to keen on how the small turbo engine looks but do like the imperial blue one for sale at the mo...so whats the best way to go? any help would be great thanks.

Youll have lots of choice for £15k including some high spec cars.

these posts end up people sticking up for either type.

same with other special cars the original escort cosworth is the purest one to have as its what the rally cars are based on,if you want poofy colours and shopping car usability get the later small turbo.

i'd rather have a straight low or sensible miler with proper history and rust free of either type.
or get a converted one,Gaz M's is a belter with big turbo conversion and been mag featured.
dans is a nice car too and i once followed it over 140 miles to a show and it never missed a beat.

A straigt car is what im after cant be dealing with rust and i dont want mallard green, i get what you mean by poofy colours but i quite like auralis and imperial blues, a few mates have big turbo cars and they swear by them but the whole biast thing kicks in so im not sure? i havent been to look at any yet as im unsure what to go for?

sorry to be upfront !! are you a chick cos chicks dig the poofy colours.

they are safe selling colours too but trust me theres nowt worse than a metallic cozzie thats had mismatched paint,i have seen them even on here with more shades than a opticians, that auralis if its one shade all round looks great but imo its the hardest colour to match up and it sticks out like a sore nob if wrong.

try finding a garaged car or a car thats had the side skirts off if your deffo after a no rust example, the sills can be rotton and you would never know,i was talking to someone on here who spent a fortune on a escort cosworth and he found out the hard way what happens when a cozzie escort gets banged with sills that have gone.

If you want to keep a std car then st is the one but if you want to go for big hp the the big turbo is the one to have. I have a st it's std and very reliable but i think it may be going for a 3dr. Im going to have a look at a 27000 mile 1 owner 3dr in white and if its as good as it sounds i'll sell the escos .I dont want to sell it but it's the only way i can fund the 3dr.

how do Beccy !!

if you go on escortrscosworth.com or here you will get hold of Gaz M or Gazza as i call him by bunging him a private message.
his car has had the lot done and afaik it did not need welding and he repainted the car only to get it tip top. thats the beauty with a honest original car thats had everything checked over... no hidden surprises.

his car recently went to Reyland too so if you were interested you could ask Reyland what he thinks as its not too much i think to ask a cozzie specialist what they thought of a car they worked on. iirc it made some good figures too.
