Default Melted plug tip

My stage 3 saff has melted the tip of a denso ik31,been advised there is some detonation going on, could somebody tell me what I need to start changing/checking? Car was set up at msd about 6 months ago, cant really afford to go back over there as have just bought a house. Does anybody know of a reputable tuner in north yorkshire I can take it to have a look? Cheers

Ahh - no more curiosity from me. Whip out the rest of your plugs and check the condition of them too

Faulty injector possibly, causing it to run lean in that cylinder?

Not using happy shopper fuel, only optimax. Msd are a fair way from me too, but if I was going to have to travel far I would try Mark Shead this time. Pete, yes I believe they are the wrong plug for this spec, wish i'd have known at the time of purchasing. There doesn't seem to be any more damage done.... not sure where to go from here on

IK31 are ok in a stage 3, just they will foul easier than the hotter running IK27, normally fine unless around town all day long, they can start moaning.

Another thing that happens with the car, is when the car is on overrun going down a hill or incline etc, when you step back on the accelerator the car will missfire for a bit. It did this the other day, when I took the plugs out, plug number 2 (the one that has melted the tip) was covered in oil and had quite a bit of carbon build up. could this have something to do with the tip melting? I've put a set of 071's in that I had spare, and im just driving the car steady, trying not to put it under load or bring it onto boost etc

Get a leak down done and the bore checked with a scope.
