I noticed yesterday on my S1 that the amal valve has no pipes fitted to it at all. Any ideas on why? Always thought that they had to be fitted..but it runs good without..so what do they do? And what do the valve do if they aren't fitted?

Yeh. But the amal valve fitted to my S2 has the pipes still attached, but also has bleed valve (altho it is shut).

what the fook that got to do with owt jim lad

the boost will rise the airbox acts as a restrictor

mine rose from 15 to 20 held

detted its bollocks off

depends how its jetted of course

mine was a turbosystems stage 1 setup at the time

i had to fit this pipe to slow down the amount of air the valve was bleeding away.....

because on a metered system like an ERST it don't like leaks as you have air passing the metering head but not actually going into the engine, hence why the air returns to the system past the metering unit.

on a cossie it's map based, so it doesnt matter if any air goes amiss...

same reason you cant run "normal" dumpvalves on ERSTs ST Esccos etc. they just dont like leaks

altho its such a tiny leak it really makes fack all difference... lol i ran my old TT (metered system) without bleeding the air back in quite happily... lol but then that car was held together with gaffer tape and cableties
