Default MK1 XR2

Ive owned this little car for almost 6 years now. A very special 70k MK1 XR2 Janspeed Turbo.
In that time its done 200 miles. Here are some pics before it went into longterm storage

some of the spec off the top of my head

Janspeed Turbo Conversion
Specialised Engines Stage 03 engine.
Four speed gearbox with series 1 LSD
RS accessories side skirts and roof tip spoiler
15" polished diamond cut rs 7's
bilstien gas dampers and springs

Here are a couple of more recen ones.......its never good discovering this. bearing in mind in the last 6 years I have worked abroad for 4, the cover may have been off once or twice.

Time has not been as kind as I had hoped, even tho 95% of the time it has been in dry storage.

Over the next year I plan a full bare metal resto. Documented here as. Hopefully have it back winning shows in 2011...

Cheers

Ben

its been in a garage on axle stands with a breathable, waterproof cover......I'm thining it must have had some underlying problems before it went into storage.

yep definetly filler, i was pulling chunks out.

plus side is the rest of the shell is all solid including the floor, sills and rolled arches . the only areas of concern rust wise are the nearside front (as pictured) , drivers doorskin and rear hatch.
