Hi ho everyone , I rally the baby Ford , as you can see here http://www.driver.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=68263, but we're into Fords a good bit here , with a minty Mk1 RS 1600 road car , and an extra minty mk2 RS1800 Rally car to full Group 4 spec . I used even use a Mk1 Tranny as service barge!

Anyhoo... just wondering , anyone know what the absolute best grunt that can be gotten from an N/A 1300 Endura motor? I'm struggling for power up the hills...the car has been dyno'd at 95 bhp .

Struggling in class ? Or just struggling ?

Over here the 1300cc class is often lumped in with the 1400cc class and some of those 1400's are up around 180 brake now, so many of the 1300cc people gave up chasing numbers as its impossible to compete in the same class.

 

yeah struggling both ways . In the forestry , I'm in with Suzuki engined Mk2s and the like , and on Tarmac it's better but there's still a few cars like Pumas . So I just have to try a bit harder... being the underdog is cool in it's own way .

 

We survived the weekend anyways , I was rallying locally . Finished a lowly 5th in class... pipped by 1 second for 4th! AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! On the last stage , I had to lift off completely for about 5 secs , I was completely blinded by the sun! 1st and 3rd were M2 Escorts with Suzuki 16v powere , 2nd was a Puma engined , 6 speed dog box'd Ka , and 4th a Mazda 323 . Gutted..... But WE had great fun . It was my 1st time with that navigator , and his first time competing in the woods .

Now....need to find another 10 bhp...and bigger dangly bits...
