Default Quick question for RS2000 MK5 people.

Can anybody tell me if the speedo on a Escort RS 2000 is driven by a traditional speedo from the gearbox or is it a electrical cable setup? MK5/6 Escort

Thanks for looking!

Cable driven

There is a VSS fitted to the end of the speedo cable before it enters the gearbox, but that only supplies info to the ECU, though I an told it can be used to drive aftermarket electronic speedo's. I think it's a hall effect type, 3 wires.

That is exactly the info I required! You have saved me loads of time sorting that one!
