I need to find out if "Balmoral kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms" in coatbridge is a genuine company.

So far Ive found a yell.com advert and an entry in the uk business directory.

The first address agrees with what i found, the second one doesnt which is odd, but I assume a registration with companies house wouldnt necessarily be at the same address as perhaps a rented industrial unit? Or is it just clearly dodgy?

 

are you local? go visit their set up and put your mind at rest one way or the other. perhaps theyve moved premises. whats made you suspiscious? theres plenty bona fide honest guys out there but they might be one man bands with no fancy flash wesites or showroom premises.

 

basically they called me up on the usual cold calling "youve been entered in a prize draw" and asked stuff like how long id been there and which room I might be most interested in redecorating.

They then followed this up tonight with a call to say Id been drawn for a 30% off voucher. The woman explained that they sell direct to the public and dont have a showroom or anything. I had kind of expected therefore to find advertising and a website.

She offered for a guy to come round and give me a quote (no obligation) which is fair enough, Im just beginning to worry theyre just wanting to check the place out.......

Perhaps Im worrying about nothing but if something sounds too good to be true it normally is!!

 

theres a recession on and the building trades been hit particularly bad so many will try all sorts of ways to get business but id always be wary of those sort of tactics.especially if you didnt enter any prize draw.

 

The plot thickens. Someone just called back to confirm the appointment so I asked for a web address and got this:

Which agrees with the address above but under a different name?

 

DM Design are a well known company!

 

But are they trying to pass themselves off as something to do with them?

 

ive had the same sort of thing phone call offering something for nothink dont do it bud there is a con some where mine was carpets cleaned for free lol just trying to sell me a hoover lol

 

They were claiming to be one and the same. The addresses match up, just not sure why the second name :S

Hopefully its just to get someone into the house for an aggressive sales pitch, rather then to plan a later break in!
