Contracts ending in 4 weeks and haven't got a clue what to update my N95 8GB with?? Nokia 5800?? N97?? Samsung??

What do you recommend and what's coming out soon?

 

Go Have a play with the n97 and see how you get on with it.. I went for a n97 from my n95 8gb.... And have just sent the n97 to fonebank and gone back to the n95... It was too buggy and too slow for me.

 

Thats one thing i like about the 95 it's idiot proof the missus has just got a samsung Jet and thats doesn't seem bad

 

been looking at the fones mentiond myself..but i have taken a liking to the sony ericsson c905.

 

really like the look of the nokia X6, tho no idea how good it is or when its out?

Im due an upgrade soon too and thinking about going for an iPhone, everyone raves about them

Had mine a year its never been slow.

Have you updated the firmware? also de branding the phone can help, basically means taking off all the shit that your phone provider preloads onto the phone and strips it back to factory, might lose one or two features i.e on mine i cant press a button for it to take me to my 3 account, little things like that but the plus side out weighs the small negatives.

 

I can renew now, but the new Blackberry Onyx isn't out until November and I'm waiting for that Got a Blackberry now and wouldn't change it for anything. iPhone does look good, but after you've had it for a bit how many of those apps would you actually use ?

Im due a new one in december, I hate slidey/flippy phones and really dont want another touch screener cos I cant get away with them. Im usung an LG KU990 at the mo. Whats out there for me?

 

I'm upgrading from my N95 8Gb this week or next as I'm due an upgrade/end of contract & the N95 is driving me round the bend, slow, keeps turning off, shite battery life etc etc

ive got a nokia e71 and its absolutely fantastic, cant fault it at all

 

dont do it! i loved mine when i first got it, but the speaker is broken, its a really common problem with them, so i have to talk on loudspeaker when someone calls me! also my delete buttons doesnt work properly!

 

I was also looking at this phone lambchop it's 12 meg camera phone will be the bollocks but do not think much of the operating system, it's prob the best camera phone in the world. If you wat something will good useable apps and a good operating system id go for iphone or htc hero.

personally I went for the hero, it's some piece of kit!! check out the video's on you tube.

p.s satio came out last week on O2.

i'm checking daily online using google and found a site today saying release date of the 16th!

 

n97,i aint normally a fan of touch screen etc but its very easy to use and the features the phone has pisses on anythng else out there imo

 

I've got a HTC Hero and really rate it, great phone. Only thing that lets it down is the battery life.

 

......so get it fixed........any new phone comes with a manufactures warrenty (at least a year).....but other than that just take it to a back street phone shop......15-20 quid

 

If you are on O2 check out the new Palm Pre that is launched next week, thursday i think.

Went from an N95 to N97. Wasnt impressed, especially after all the hype and delays.

The more i use it, the more it pisses me off. Had it 3 months and surprised its not in a million bits yet.
Maybe just touchscreens not my thing.

Im looking at both these for my next upgrade FROM the iphone.

 

I have a 5800 but i actually prefer to use my old 6300, the 5800 is a good phone but i find the touch screen annoying

 

i was going to upgrade my nokia 6230i ,was told n97 is crap by carfonewarehouse fella, kept my oldskool 6230i on a new tariff

 

Nokia 3330 here ...snake 2 rocks

 

It's just nothing special whereas the OS on the htc hero is android they are the people who make google, so it's top notch. (as for apps any decent useable app is available for it too, which i doubt you will find for the sony)

Type htc hero demo into google and watch a couple of the video's, in my opinion it's a country mile ahead of any other phone on the market.

As said before I was going to get a sony satio, when i looked at any info all it goes on about is the camera, if thats your bag then go for it. I spoke to O2 a week past on fri and they said they were getting them in last week. ( they may or may not have I don't know cause i went fort the htc)

i had the n97 since release and it pissed me off once too many times so it went to the ebay gods
good phone but oh so slow and annoying i nearly threw it on the floor so many times
i have an iphone 3gs and my life is a much calmer place now

 

I did exactly the same thing.... I now own HTC Hero and I'm loving it

Just need to root it and then I'll be happy

 

Iphone 3gs, there is not a better product on the market IMHO.

 

I hope so!!! A good friend of mine off here is sending me 2 because I always lose phones
