hi im doing a sap rebuild and ran into a problem, when i was swapping the oil pump over i took out the two 10mm bolts and pulled the strainer of but somthing fell out of were the small pipe that sprays the oil up the under side of the pistons at the pump side and this happend on my stoney drive so i cant find i used magnet still nothing, dont no wot im looking for cus i only heard it so can anyone tell me wot it is or should i say was!!

 

did you take the pump out then heard something fall out? and is there now no pump on the block,. if so check that 2 things,, 1. the dizzy/oil pump driveshaft hasnt fallen out.
2. the locating dowel for the oil pump hasnt fallen out.

Cant be anything much else except possibly a washer or bolt?

 

the engine is out and completly striped out she spun the 4th big end so decided to redo the lot,, had the pump and strainer in my hands wen this happen i have all wot u said cus i was so carfull with the rest and then this i realy dont no wot it was cud have been a stone frum my shoe just coincadence wen pulled it apart it fell but im almost 100% sure it fell from were it goes into the pump

 

have u got the oil pump driveshaft to hand then ?

 

yeah mate i think soo anyway is that the hexagonal shaped thing a bit like a house door handle bar? should have done it on the kitchen table but wifes too moany bout that kind of thing unfortunatly,
