im not expecting miracles of my car being shit loads faster, but how could i improve the acceleration and so on?? e.g better filters?? my mate recons if i put a induction kit on and sports exhaust it will slow it down.. any help appreciated.
Those bits won't slow it down, it won't give much increase either, though it will sound faster, not really much to do with these, just save up for a bigger engine like the 1.6, and drop that in.

Can you get a better exhaust manifold for these? Do Miltek or anyone do one? That might be worthwhile, with a decent exhaust system, maybe a panel filter.
Will sound a bit better if nothing else, and might well rev a bit keener.
Outside that, I'd save up and swap to a 1.7 engine. Not too hard to do, and they go pretty well
only thing i would say is get your k&n filters and exhaust then give it a proper service with new plugs and oil then it should be a little faster but remember its only a 1.25 so never going to be quick or tune able but they do go well
best of luck johnandhissaffy
thanks for the tips guys, looking back i wish i had got a bigger engined car, but need to wait another 6 month for my insurance to go down!! then i can have a better play with it replacing engines and stuff!
6months will fly by just put some nice wheels on it and lower it..
Also get a Induction kit and a cat back system as when you can change the engine you should be able to keep the exhaust and kit..
This will keep you happy till then..
I have a 1.25 zetec, looked around to see what I could do but theres not much really that makes much difference! just concentrate on making it look good until you save enough to buy a quicker car. Still love my little fiesta though
I've got a 1.25 MK4 fiesta with 90 BHP and 133 nm torque (however car had an exhaust leak at the time so wasn't running 100 percent + my boost valve was standard (wasn't turned up). I've got a remap, full exhaust (including 421 headers and 200 cell cat) msd coil pack and high voltage wires, FSE power boost valve, cone air intake, performance engine mount, slightly higher bar fuel pump and am just about to install a puma 1.7 throttle body (12mm bigger than standard). All in all the car performs amazingly for what it is and couldn't be happier! FYI if you want the 1.7 throttle body it's literally just a bolt on no other things required (38mm standard throttle body which is very restrictive tbh). Pretty much a no brainer tbh! Hope this helped!
