Hello Everyone,

So I decided to make a turbo conversion with using an ST170 engine. I have problems with main bearings and con rod bearings. As I have purchased already standard size bearings the garage says that they won’t fit?!

I searched the internet from one end to the other looking for oversized bearings for this engine without any results. Please help me out where can I find bearings for the ford focus ST170 engine, of course these bearings are to withstand 350BHP+

did you buy the bearings from ford?

ford list 3 or 4 different sized bearings each have their own colour code. You will need your old one to match up

 

Bearings are made by ACL Aluglide range.

Decided to get these since my local Ford dealer said that the bearings (OEM) are sold together with the whole ST170 engine block not separately.
However if the bearings can be purchased separately then I’d like to see some part numbers and check what the dealer has to say because this issue is a big problem. Can’t really start the work without this part.

 

sorry no part numbers as i sold the engine with all receipts.

they 100% sell bearings seperate though try another ford dealer or someone on here who has access to the microcat. have you still got your old bearings? mine had a blob of paint on them think its yellow, brown green or blue and that determins which size bearings you need.
