Default Cheapest way to get MORE power and LOWER consumption?

I have been considering whether or not to put a bigger engine into my 1.8 54 plate focus estate. And am seriously considering either st170 or rs turbo conversion kit

I really fancy getting much better performance at the expense of fuel economy. But what is the cheapest way to get better performance? And is there a way to do it which improves fuel consumption also??

I am new to this, so any good advice would be great.

seriously, horses need to drink - both st170 and rs are not a least economical...

The 1.8 seems to struggle a bit with the heavier body of the estate. I figured that bigger engine means easier to pull bigger body?

Would love better performance so quite happy to forego fuel economy

Flog it and buy a diesel 130, then get it remapped, it'll fly then! My mate has got a remapped diesel, it keeps up with my st170 and he gets nearly twice the mpg I do

fuel economy and power dont go hand in hand, putting a rs turbo engine in that is a bit silly, i would think just buy a quicker estate is a better easier option!

+1

Other option is a focus RS engine and an LPG kit, like Tank Mike off here has in his connect van, he can do over 300miles to 20 quid and its as quick as a stage 3 saph cos!
