Default inlet manifold stud

one of my inlet manifold studs has come loose and and the gasket between the inlet manifold and throttle body isnt sealing properly causing an air leak. where the stud connects into the inlet has lost its thread.
anyone know what i can do to resolve the problem?

I'd imagine that it'd be the head that's lost the thread not the stud ! The head material will be softer than the stud, could try running a an m8 tap through it mate and see if it will cut a thread, failing that you may have to re-tap it out to m10 if you can't take the head off and get it helicoiled.

I imagine the OP is referring to the 4-bolt mount between the Inlet manifold and throttle body, in which case these are M6. You'll ideally need to remove the manifold from the car, but you could remove the throttle body, then carefully run a tap through it taking utmost care to get NO metal in the manifold atall. If that doesn't work, it'll either need heli-coiling or tapping out to M8.

It's not one of the more serious RST problems.

after re-reading my 1st response, i believe it was mysterious and vague enough to qualify as essentially what u said, just disregarding any mention of helicoiling, drilling, or basically any important details

new stud = win
