Default Help please! RS turbo wont fire up?

Hi all, my escort was recently parked up for two weeks after a suspension problem. Once this was fixed i went to start the car and it wouldnt fire up, just turnover? i then tried it again and it was completely flat? I left it for 5 minites tried it again and the power came back but would still only turnover? It has had very recently a new starter motor, new ht leads and distribitor, new spark plugs and a new battery. What else can it be?!! coil maybe? any help will be much appreciated, Cheers Gaz

- check that the fire order is correct,

- remove the spart plugs and clean them, check if they smell of fuel, or use a lighter and see if they catch fire, the plugs that is, spark plugs. remove both of the earth and power to the coil pack, thats the two side ones and try and start it, will clear the cylinders of the fuel fluding the system, or, get an old spray bottle and place it down 1, 2, 3 and 4, while removing the raiming fuel. replace the two cables you removed from the coil pack. replace 3/4 spark plugs

- check there is a spark, if your on your own, then try and place it somewhere you can see, near the dash, and test 3/4, or all.

- Remove the cold start vaulve at the back of the inlet BLUE one, should be center to the inlet, at the bottem,

- remove the air filter, if you only have one person, or just yourself, then remove the air filter and put a long screwdriver down the flap, to hold it open, then start it, when you here it TRY, and then let go of trying to start it, should here a wired noies come from the meaturning head. replace the filter and try start it.

Timming should be 1342. the timming in the ford book for the re-building of the engine is in correct, just incase you followed that.

any problems, contact me
