Default my rs turbo feels hesitant when it begins boost...?

So when i put my foot down in my escort RS S2 it seems to hold back just before boost and then flies to 10psi fine.... it feels like it hits a brick wall and then flies...?

Any suggestions what it could be?

It has a cossie fuel pump on it, not chipped recently mot'd and serviced and new HT leads.

Thanks.

i'd say the timing is out, and possibly the fuelling a little.

yeh i thought it was that. But it happens regularly. Its been to MSD twice and is fine for about 5 months ish and thenstarts it again. Would it make much difference if i get it chipped by MSD or do i need to convert it to EFI to stop the problem from re-occuring.

efi is better, if you can afford to go efi route, then do so.
i have an mfi rst cab and it's ok, i had a carb turbo fiesta now on megasquirt, bit of a pain because i didn't know what i was doing, but it's easy once you understand and have a go.
i reckon i could get MS wired in and working pretty easily now, don't get put off it by anyone, it's easy to use and you map it when you change stuff, so no more expensive mapping sessions anymore
if you don't fancy that, then OFAB from frst is pretty good for just over 200 horses pretty cheap.
