Especially since I just found the SACD version I thought I'd lost!

I'm so superchilled right now, with Pink Floyd going off all around me in full 5.1

That is all

Aaaah... yeah... I remember how good it was, especially after a smoke, but I haven't smoked in years. Even today though the album is exceptional, if you got told it was made last week you wouldn't be surprised, but all those years ago? Hell it must have been really groundbreaking.

It is completely timeless! Both in sound, musically, and sound technically. A true testament to Alan Parsons an his recording and mixing technique!

I just love how it never sound stale or old. It's always fresh no matter how many years go by!

It's amazing.

There was nothing like it before, and there's been nothing like it since.

And never will be!

Ive got it on now, its wierd, its physcadelicy type of stuff, doesnt make sense to me. It reminds of the stuff Bill nelson/be-bop deluxe knocks out! Strange!

I don't smoke (dope) anymore either - not done for ten years. Doesn't stop it being a classic record tho! Or make it any less enjoyable

This is definatly one of those albums that will stay around for all time! Just the Progression through the songs and the feel of the whole thing just does it for me! Defo my fave album! try to listen to it at least once a week just to remind myself! remember listening to it as a kid and even now with my Metal/Punk/Raver/Dub head on Ill always kick back and smoke to this! Also when on other "tipples" it just gives you the impression that it was designed for all the different states of mind that can be experienced! If you like it and havent seen the live Pulse DVD then its worth a purchase! fantastic live version of the whole album! tis Amazing!
time to get my itunes booted up i think!

(also if your into reggee or like the sound get Dub Side of the Moon by Easy star all stars! tis cool on a different level. not better but not worse)

Me too - I'm 27 so they were well before my time, and I'm a huge metal fan (think Metallica, Slayer, Lamb Of God, Pantera, Godsmack, etc) but Floyd still have something that pulls me in

I've got Pulse too. Two guys I worked with went to that gig on that night, and I'm soooooooooooo jealous! From all the live gigs I've seen, in person and recorded, it's still by far the best light show I've ever seen! Jean Michel Jarre comes a close second, but Pulse was just amazing!

I picked this cd up at a later date which was just a recording from the evening

and £22.50 ! Jesus I'd not even think twice about paying £220 or more to go and see them again

oh....u..... I have met a few like you and I have to give you the customary response of "You Bastard" ha ha. nah i jess! few people i know were at that concert too and its just a jelosey thing! I always make a point of when im battered and watching it I ring or txt them all just to remind them that they are bastards! yeah and im only 25 but my uncle has all the first press albums and saw them loads in the 70's so used to get subjected to them a lot as well as Led zep and Metallica! must of been the only kid at primary school singing for whom the bell tolls in the playground!

Also 30 albums? confused as I thought there were only 13 studio albums (14 if including the soundtrack to More)
is that including live albums cos thats rather a decent collection!

I work for a company that do lighting and sound and the guys who i work with dont particually like pink floyd but we have the dvd as if your a lampy its like looking at light heaven! the planning and pre production that had to be done for that show was unbelievable. for example the Circular Projection screen that they use has about 30 moving head lights on it. not sure of prices then but now each light will set you back about £4K minimum so thats £120'000 just for that bit and there are hundreds more! Each of the lazers they use is worth over a million! for light geeks like us its just like porn! just makes it more interesting for me cos i love them!

Feel free to call me a bastard, its well deserved as it was amazing LOL

I say the same to anyone that went to Live 8, I missed 2 tickets given away on here by seconds, now realising that was the last time the band would ever fully play together I am even more gutted I couldn't get tickets.
