for me, yes, i just gave 100 pound each for 2 escort si's(diffrent sellers) no crash damage-no mot's but 1 was solid car with gearbox fault
i wouldnt give more than 150 for it, or any car without mot tbh
just a very fast look

even to break them theres no money in the parts exept the gti specific stuf, the rest just dont sell,
if you just want a stop gap car try looking at 18 si's same engine, simerler spec, but a fuck load easyer to find cheep ones with or without mots (i found both mine in 2 days)

Mark thats too much money mate the 1st one i had in blue i only paid 350 for with 6 months mot and slight damage to rear arch and door, was a mint car with that done it cost me 150 to get reapaired and i swapped it for the white s2 i used to have, Find a good one there cracking everyday cars,There's a thread i just started in pics section on gti's take a look the pics of my first blue one are on there too but bare in mind i bought it standard

Very true but its a nice kit and interior and means more to me than an si ever would and i guess i'm not the only one the good clean cars are doing well on ebay at the min too
Not worth it IMO.
My mate bought a nice 3dr GTi for £1050 recently. 17's, lowered, exhaust, no rot etc.
A 5dr needing work thats gonna stand you £800-£900 finished aint a bargain.
Nice runaround tho. If it goes bang, whack a 2 litre straight in, instant power upgrade.
3dr just needs interior and wheels, and its an RS2000 to the untrained eye.
