I know two people well with it. You are going to have good days and bad days. Your focus on fitness has just become ten fold.
Chin up, it's attitude and fitness that will make this easier for you.

my mums got it, luckily not progressive thou
, as above relapses can be bad and lengthy, but you can do your best at keeping your immune system up and keeping yourself fit is vital! my ma's also got type 1 diabetes and thyroid, and struggles to keep fit, but plenty of walks, hobby's etc and she does fine, keep POSTIVE and as FIT as you can!
Dont know what to say chap, it must be like having a knife driven into your stomach when you found out
All you can do is do exactly what the doctor says etc, and remain positive.........
Can i ask how they found out you had it? what was your symptoms?

Hi Gaz
My partners mum has MS and has good and bad days as well .. But if you need any info/advice I will ask/try to help out where needed..
She was diagnosed at an early age, but her father (RIP) didnt want to worry her.
As said, if you want any guidance or whatever give me a PM..

ive got a member in my class with MS, some days she walks with a stick and has really bad days and good days. She does a lot of yoga and pilates though to try and keep her mobile and her fitness up.
Hope you dont have a rough time

Lap tops gone wrong now too so I'll try and answer this on my phone. Started of with numbness in one arm and then lost the use of that hand and fingers etc. Ended up having brain scan to show brain swelling. They've told me that steroids should give me the use of my hand again.
my mother has had it for 10 years now, good days and bad days.
she self injects daily, she still goes to work and does things as normal.
she's better than she used to be, she went blind overnight before being diagnosed, but a few days and her sight came back, then her balance went etc.
but the medication has helped and to see her you wouldn't know there was anything wrong.

. I was going to contact both you and Ginge regarding the car as shes a credit to you both and off course Nige.I love her to bits but she'll have to sit under a cover now untill i get to grips with this.As for me ,well I've just had a huge curry and a few beers because i can feel a new fitness regime coming on very soon

Thanks to everyone for their kind words of advice
My mum had her first(suspected) attack in 1979, but wasn't diagnosed then nothing until early 90's when she was diagnosed.
Diet and avoiding certain foods can help a lot, depending on who, or rather what side of the debate you're on.
I know it doesn't help, but apply for DLA, as if it affects your mobility by a certain amount you can get DLA mobility and the care component, which together can add nearly Ł100 a week to your income, it is not counted for any purposes, so this is on top of any wages or benefits, plus higher rate you get FREE ROAD TAX, or can have a mobility car, such as a nice MK2 FRS!!, though you will have to pay some towards this.

Thanks to everybody for their kind words of advice and support,it really does mean a lot to me.
I,m sitting here waiting for the phone call at the moment when i'm called into hospital for tests and steroid treatment. I've been told it'll definately be one day this week so hopefully once i've had that i can look into a new health and fitness regime. To be honest i need to get fit and this'll be the kick up the arse i need

As for attitude, those that know me will know that this is just another hurdle in what has been a pretty shit few years (collapsed business venture etc)and I'll fight it like all the other problems we've had
Cheers Gaz

I've just seen the other post, didnt realise you were working THAT close lol. When I get out of here I'll pop down and see you. I've only lived in Northampton for a year so haven't been into Jamsport yet. If I can't drive I can walk it in 20 minutes. As long as I don't become the tea boy like I did when I used go to see Steve at A1 lol
