why do they make ALL the traffic go in the same gate, instead of feeding people in through the other gates?

and once the cars are in, why dont they use the 2nd entrance to the track (like they used to) where you go under the tunnell?

5000 cars going through a dual lane entrance is just pathetic. no wonder they lost the grand prix

they spent all that money a few years ago upgrading the roads around silverstone (in case they lost the grand prix), and i went to shows after that which used the new stuff properly but now its as bad as it used to be before they upgraded the roads!

 

I've only been the once, ford fair this year, traffic was harsh getting in

probably cos theyve lost f1 they now know they dont have to try as its going to be a good 10 years before they even stand a chance of getting it back, so why bother?? after all ford fair and trax are just chavvy little car shows in thier eyes so why would they care??

 

why would they not care? Will me, i would give more than 2 shits about it, the amount of money they must of made from gate collecting, and traders stand, club stands must have been ALOT, what money would they lose? pritty much note. hardly much power used in the day, and hardly much to pay for apart from marshalls, as food wise is traders.. so i would think, 20 a ticket, unless club stand, and the amount of people, would of made them a nice profit, so would u care? of course you would,

i cued for about 10-15min, got stright throw, i was camping and we headed there around 8ish, something like that...



but yes, they need to reopen and use the other entrances.

 

They may have lost the f1 but they've gained the moto gp in its place so i was told.

 

i'm surprised the local council and emergency services dont kick their arse, they are both very big events. when the a43 is cueing back to the mcdonalds roundabout both lanes full, how would police or fire engines get through in an emergency?

luckily i turned right at that roundabout yesterday, went through the silverstone village and cut out the a43 jam completely. but i still had to queue for 1 hour getting into the show.

i presume they dont use the other entrances and tunnel thing internally any more because it would cost more to marshall.

i know quite a few people with bloody nice motors are stopping attending these 2 shows because of the traffic and other issues. yesterday trax had alot less nice cars there than usual, and much more halfords style vauxhalls and french tat.

plus i sat in the grandstand for 1 hr at mid day waiting for track action, the thick fuckers couldnt even work out how to get the drift cars onto the track? durrr. i might not bother doing trax next year, but will still do ford fair.

 

took us 1.5hours to get in yesterday, very irritating

What twigged me off was having to negotiate the tunnel - my car's a bit low, maybe lower than most, and even a relatively minor speed hump's a challenge! Then after getting down the ramp, I thought "YES!" Until the exhaust started pinging on those sodding poles in the middle of the tunnel!

 

people will still go to the shows despite ques. Just pisses you off a bit.
