Default Cosworth engine question

hi, i restored my engine bay on my 3dr cosworth over the last year so the engine hadn't been started. i changed the oil to silkolene pro s 10w50.

my problem is now the engine seems noisier than it was before. it seems to have a louder rattle on the top end. could this be the followers as the engine hadn't been run for quite some time, and the oil being thicker than what i used to run?

any suggestions would be helpfull

cheers Matthew

if you've changed to a thicker oil that might be the explantion- you need to take it for a "spirited" drive and get the oil nice and hot which will thin it out; you'll find they will quieten down
