Default Laptop advice - help needed -

Hi peeps,

Looking to get a new laptop. Basically it is for internet, email use and storing picutres and that is about it.

We are going to have virgin 50mb broadband.

Can anyone suggest what we need to look for to get a laptop that is quick, and also I am sure virgin said we need one with something for the 50mb??

and where to get one from??

appreciate that you can spend huge sums, but given that we only want to use it for the above wanted to get something at a reasonable price.

Give us ya opinions!

I would recommend Dell. http://www.dell.co.uk/

You can build/spec a laptop on the website, obviously making it as cheap or well specced as you want. Then they'll build it and send it out to you. Easy and you get a laptop exactly the way you want it!

For me id go onto Ebuyer, great site for ordering stuff(used them 3 times now)
Something like this would be ideal http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164844
Its got a core 2 duo processor, 2gbs of ram so it will be fast, and also got a great screen. Ł350 not bad at all

With a 50Mb line i would be looking with something with a lot of storage space (Hard drive size) for all the music and films you will be downloading

By the way you'd also want to look out for wifi, which means you can surf the net without using any cables etc, again the one in my link has this facility
