Hi Johnyjn,
i can't answer all your questions for you, i'm sure someone more in the know can.
But I hve the touring car version of the getrag box fitted to my sierra.
prices are like everything nowadays, if someone wants one they will pay whatever you want, if your selling its whatever you can get. There was a time when £4,000 plus was the norm, now i've seen them on ebay for anywhere between £500 and £1,500. The fit of the box is not to disimiler to a standard box, exept in lengh. Also there is a quick release end on my box for pulling the prop out quickly, but it may just be unique to mine as it is heinz 57 of mad bits. I cant say with absolute accuracy, but I think the gearing is longer on the touring car box than the grp a rally box. I know mine is. but again it could be just mine.
If you fit one you'll never go back to a t5 lol.

sorry, I havnt got any of the box out of the car. I'm sure there would pics on yhe net. The book "how to prepare the sierra for motorsport" has all the build specs for the getrags and lots of pics.
Hi Mate
When i bought the box it came complete with prop, gearstick , and mounting .
You will need the correct prop as the box is a lot longer and as Baz says they are quick release .
The mounting mine has ,has been made and bolts to the box and bolts through the floor of the car with polly bush mounts .
You MAY need a twin plate paddle clutch ( i did ) got it from Tony @ touring car spares ,
They are a superb box and will hold big BHP , they come as a rally box or Touring car spec so you need the correct one or the gears are all wrong , the BTCC box has much longer gears for top speeds as the rally box is built for of the line .
Prices , well you can pick up a bargain for £1500 or pay as much as 4k , depends if the seller knows what he has got
some also have a built in pump to run an oil cooler , these are worth a little more
Yes, mines bolted to the floor too with what loks like a purpose built mount. Thats handy to know that the oil cooler isnt on all of them. Mine has it on the back end of the box, it's like a sandwhich plate with the piping coming out. I have mine using a single plate ap plate, which hangs on well.
Sorry to go slightly OT, but if North york rss (paul)? needs any 7" twin plates for his getrag, I have two as new in boxes.

Sounds about right with the fabricated chassis mounting brackets etc...
hmm thats interesting, in your photo you have a single peice bell housing, on mine ( you might just be able to see in the pic above) I have bell housing similer to the cossie one, but not quite, and a second ally tunnel. much the same as yours but cut. may be an earlier of even later version. my bell housing was cast with the lugs and plate for the hydraulic clutch she runs. strange. oh well.
