will a mk4 escort xr3i petrol tank fit my mk3 escort shell? because i am fitting a 1.8 silver top zetec an i need a tank that i can put a pump on to it.or will i be better off getting a series 1 tank?thanks if u can help

it will bolt up to the body no problem but the sender is on the side on a mk3...mk4 its on the top..also different size holes for the senders.mfi and efi are different

 

As said before, the sender is in a different place, but as you will be using an in-tank pump, that will not be a problem.

You will also need the filler neck from a MK4 as the MK3 has a rubber piece between the filler neck and the tank and the MK4 filler neck slots into the tank itself. The cap and everything will still fit the same.
