mech help please ,focus rear hubs..urgent

doin rear wheel bearing in sisters focus.cant get the drum off.sanded the center carrier to remove rust but stuck fast.dont have heat to help.
anyone have a trick,cant see any locator screws so presume its just rusted on.prying carfully for 30mins as have seen drums chip and break...like cast

Best way is to slide hammer the drum off, which usually destroys the bearing, but as you're changing it, it doesnt matter. If you can't get it off unbolt the stub axle from behind the drum then it might be easier to get them apart when theyre off the car.
They usually sieze on the stub axle btw, very common problem.

Yeah in the ford manual it suggests removing the 4 bolts that hold the stub axel on. Also when you have it off and in a vice you can hammer the stub axel out or press it out easily.
One problem i had with a friends car tho was once i got it all apart the drum was quite worn and the shoes also so i slacked them off just so i could get the drum on again but it wouldnt self adjust enough to work.
I know you can angle grind the lip off the drum to fix this but i just replaced the drums and does for the guy and eveyrthing was fine.

have the stub axle off now and going to seperate them with two long bolts,dont have a pullers.
havent done one like this before.what holds the bearin in as there is no nut.is it just pressin them back together that holds it together

The bearing is just pressed into the drum and them the stub axel is just slides in unless it is siezed like yours.
The one i did the stub axel just tapped out of the bearing tho i thought i would of had to press it out.

try striking the front face of the drum between wheel mountings [stud holes/threads]
this some time ruins the bearing. gently tap the the outside of the drum where the brake shoes run inside,this can sometimes centralise the shoes. hope this helps

Be careful when you put the bearing back in as it's magnetic iirc and put on the wrong way round your abs light will stay on,assuming it's got abs of course but when we made the drums in plant the bearing had to be put in a certain way round so I assume all focii have abs.Check before you take the bearing out,needs to be pressed in and out and takes a lot of force to get it put/in.Circlip holds it in so need big circlip pliers to remove it.
