I have a 2004 Mondeo Ghia X Auto (5 Speed Durashift) on which the heads are gone. I am wondering which other V6 engines will slot in place instead. I have the choice of putting in an ST24 engine from a known source or an engine from a car a year old, but from a scrap dealer (apparently it has 77,000 miles on it like any other engine...).

So my question is will the engine from a Mk2 fit a Mk3 with an Auto, or is it a case of auto only?
