Default putting gauges in interior heater vents ?

Hi,

I want to fit a boost gauge in one of my interior heater vents but am unsure if its ok to do The car is a s2 erst and I want to take out the right side vent from the center console.

My question is this, will it matter once I have fitted the gauge that the hot air will still be trying to come out of that vent, I'd imagine the gauge & the wiring would get quite hot ! What have other people done to overcome this problem ?

cheers, Duncan

If u are worried about the heat just pull of the heater duct and rerout or
leave off altogether.

Only problem with that vent from the heater box, is that it goes thru the steering column, so is a bit harder to disconnect.

I would just pull the hose off @ the heater box end

if u pull hose off at heater end then all pressure will jus go out that so give u poor heating to other vents? why not chop it back a bit n block it off with summit

Due to my intercooler (nms twin cossie) I only have 4 small fans on top to aid cooling. I can only get the temperature to hold when I have the interior heaters on full hot so stopping the car from overheating is an issue to think about as well, would any of the above suggestions effect this in ANY way ? ie. blocking off that vent = more chance of the car overheating
