My megasquirt efi conversion cost something like this:

From local scrapper:

Intake manifold, fuel rail, throttle body, brake booster pipe, edis parts (efi flywheel, vr-sensor &bracket,,loom, coilpack+bracket, spark plug wires, edis unit) ~100£
(if you want it look good sandblasting/painting parts costs extra. I sandblasted all parts and get those professional painted.
efi throttle pedal 5£

Another parts:

Megasquirt efi unit v2.2 200£
loom parts 50£
new bigger injectors 200£
efi throttle cable 20£
Fuel lines 40£
Quality cone filter 80£
Custom intake pipe 30£
Innovate wideband lambda 130£ (really important!)

And then the installation costs extra. And i recommend set of NEW injectors, you can newer know what shit those second hand injectors are even if serviced.

Just been ripped off so many times with mechanics and sprayers so im a bit cautious now.

std MFI - STD ford EFI - no gain in power!

Personally if ure MFI is working fine and your not running at 200bhp or whatever then I wouldnt bother converting unless your wanting to tidy up the engine bay, less clutter..

Somehow disagree. I'm sure everyone who has gone from MFI to EFI has not only experienced better drivability but also some power gains.

2nd hand injetors are fine providing they have been cleaned and TESTED using a propper injector cleaner and tester.

norris uses cossie management which is the same as ODDKIDD CREATIONS so why pay 2k when oddkidd does it cheaper?

just an option mate.

I use NMS for my turbo, i'd rather pay the extra for karl and ollie to do it cos i've used them before after getting refrences from people on here, my rs hasn't skipped a beat since they touched it over 4 months ago.
If anything happened to it after OKC had converted it and NMS would have to backtrack someone elses work which is both frustrating and again costly for me!.

its swings and roundabouts.

at the moment running MFI i should already be hitting about the 200bhp mark.

The last garage that uprated my fuel pump kept saying i would gain so much by going EFI. Better driveability and alot more option to increase the bhp as i cant go much more due to he MFI ????? dunno how accurate this is but can only go from what im being told

To be honest the main reason is i want more power i have enough torque to rip my car in half but want more speed from it. Obviously the better driveibilty will help with the extra power aswell.

True! having full efi setup the car is so much better than mfi, igntion is totally mappable, fueling is spot on, and you can have the boost come in in different ways like making it much more proggresive!

Some people prefer to have work done but people that have a very good reputation.

Personally id rather spend a few extra £'s and have my car worked on by specialists not by someone who runs of his parents front garden.

I know my setup is not cheapest you can buy, but i believe it is well worth it.

oddkidd doesn't work from his parents garden? i swear he has his own company and a good reputation at converting to cossie management!
It isn't allways a case of how much something cost that reflects the quality.
2k for something thats nearly 20 years old just seems ridculous!

don't know if its wideband its closed loop lambda on mine and all controlled via the ecu o plugins as such if any.

i'm now running efi, and it's much better than a carb turbo setup or the mfi on my erst powered cab.
ok, ecu £330, wideband £230, inlet/sandwich plate/engine loom £100, injectors £40, miscellaneous parts £50 -pipe etc.
then time an dfuel to map it.
better driveability, better economy than either of the previously mentioned setups, granted mfi isn't too bad on fuel once setup, but lacks the finesse of the efi, on boost and off.
megasquirt isn't for everyone, but decent management can be bought for reasonable money.

just to add i already had bay loom, flywheel and other bits and pieces from a stripped car i had.

lol at working out the garden.
Jano did start from his parents garden over 10 years ago working out of a double garage.

We all start somewhere, he worked on his own motors then his pals untill he is where he is today.

Now his reputation is second to none! Even if you prefer others the fact is your tuner is inferior

He has a massive yard with ramps, office, store rooms, diagnostic machines, co machines etc etc.. Charges what the job is worth and will not have you over like many others! Also what i really like is that no-one else works for him. He says that if anyone is going make a mistake on customers cars it will be him only, this way no mistakes will be made.

Also OKC has never advertised anywhere ever. Everything is word of mouth which speaks for itself, if thats not enough then have a good look at the cars he builds.

Mine was in there on this pic,

Mine was in there on this pic,

I think its a case of some peeps like to have good excuse as to why they blew 2k for something that can easily be done for 1200-1500! if they think they need to prove to other people that they got a good deal then fair play to them!
Its the same with a 300bhp engine i had a quote for 1 by NMS and then decided to goelse where for a quarter of the price!

Mine was in there on this pic,

I will second how good Jano is. My mate bought a cab on L8 management and the from the word go had problems with it. He ended up booking it in at a local tuner who could'nt diagnose a definate fault so he rang Jano. We drove the extra distance (bearing in mind we live in Blackpool) and within an hour Jano had diagnosed and fixed the problem for a very small fee. In this particular case paying more definatley doesnt mean a superior service as Jano is second to none. Would highly recomend.
