Default What turbo is this....m27 garrett.

HI there i have a sierra cosworth and i dont know what turbo its running on...when i bought it i was told its a rs500 turbo but i dont hink it is..lol.....its a GARRETT M27...thats all i can see on it....car has lots of lag ans is running cica 360 bhp so im told.........any help appreciated...paul.........

Lots of garrett turbos have M27 on the compressor housing, I dont beleive that is a model number.

Put some pics of it up

Thats either a T4 or a T34, think its a T4 from the exhaust housing, but im not as familiar with them as some folk on here, so im sure someone else can give you a more definitive answer.

hi there so if its a t4 or t34 whats the difference and what would it have came off....and which one is better lol.....thanks..

"looks" like a t34 to me, certainly by looking at the compressor side

FYI: a T4 was a standard fit for rs500's
a t34 was fitted to the large turbo escort cosworths, but the are a popular upgrade from standard fit t3's on sapphire cosworths

t34's are common for stage 3

if you are running stage 3 at 360, its more likely to be a t34.

it could well be a t4 which is overkill for 360hp in my opinion, but if it is, that might explain the lag
