my red nova
800 kgs
270bhp
= 337.5 bhp per tonne

my 3 door cossie should be (dont know the power for certain yet with t34 etc)
1200kgs
330bhp
= 275

my mini im building
600kgs
500bhp
= 833 per tonne

Really you need to allow for the driver as well though, thats why bikes power to weight ratio is so meanignless when done without a rider as the rider adds about 50% to the weight!

To get my cossie to the same power to weight as my nova i would need 400bhp

To get my cossie to the same power to weight as my mini i would need 1000bhp

Rick, who are you?
Ive not idea to be honest mate.

Ive built loads of A series, and i call them gay with good reason, ive spent 2 grand this week on my cossie and it will be about 330bhp and reliable, when i spent two grand on an a series i'm lucky to get a reliable 100bhp

Old technology has its limits sadly.

Hence im building up this 500bhp calibra turbo engine i have for my latest mini.

thier ford figures, but 4*4 saph and esc cos meant to be the same at 1304kg...
in real life, with fluids and steario's and stuff car will wiegh at least 50kg more.
e.g xr2 are meant to wiegh 840kg, mine came in at 960kg with 1/4 fuel, some tools, and boot floor with spare, and bits and bobs, +85kg for me.

dry weight of my gsxr750 is 166Kg
power is 139bhp

dry weight power of bike is 837bhp/tonne

add:
me 76kg
1/2 tank of fuel n other fluids we'll say 15kg? (9kg of fuel)
leathers etc say 9kg but no idea lol!

total weight 276 kg

power to weight with me ridin = 503

markk
your calculations include fuel/clothes/fluids etc?
is you bike an 02?if so weight dry is 186kg? so needs a fair bit more power than mine to be more

just used guess calculations of 186kg for bike,70kg for rider and power of 137bhp and that gives 535bhp/tonne. try addin heavy leathers n fluids in yer calculations

or is bike mega souped up with big bhp? or are you a weightless midget?

while i have my maths head on i did some more calculations

people i took out on back of my old cbr6 thought it was fast but...

cbr6 = 186kg,100bhp

me on bike fully laden is 350bhp/tonne and with someone else at 80kg they would be experiencing 273bhp/tonne which is SHITE compared to riding alone so passengers think its fast as fuck when it aint really

even funnier to realise my new gixxer would feel quicker to my passenger at 390bhp/tonne than them ridin the cbr6 solo

no m8 , its an 04 bike weighs 186kgs dry plus fuel etc and me is 276kgs
and it puts out just over 146 at the wheel with a few mods

so i was actually slightly out 529bhp/tonne all for less than Ł7500

i agree , people who race you two , can be alittle embarrasing - very rarely like , but with another person on the back you can up the weight by a third , so in esscence drop the horse power by 33% and thats what you end up with 97 bhp/tonne onmy bike

and yes passengers do think the bikes fast , but without a pillion , now that IS fast
